A Journey of Unity and Devotion : ( Part-1)
By Lokanath Mishra
On May 11, 2025, fourteen members of our family, spanning various age groups and hailing from different parts of the country, embarked on a sacred journey to Haridwar. As we gathered at Delhi Airport at 10 am, the excitement and anticipation were palpable. Despite being distant relatives, we were united in our quest for spiritual growth and togetherness.

As we loaded our bags into the tempo traveler, we felt a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose. The journey to Haridwar was filled with laughter, stories, and conversations that strengthened our bonds. As the sun began to set, we reached the holy city, and our spirits were lifted by the divine aura that surrounds it.
Ganga Aarati : A Spiritual Experience

As evening descended, we made our way to the ghats to witness the enchanting Ganga Aarati. The rhythmic chanting, the flickering lamps, and the majestic river Ganga flowing gently before us created an atmosphere of profound spirituality. We stood there, mesmerized, feeling the divine presence that permeates every aspect of this sacred city.
Rest and Reflection

After the aarati, we returned to our hotel, where we enjoyed a nourishing dinner. As we rested and reflected on the day’s experiences, we felt grateful for this opportunity to come together and rejuvenate our spirits.
This journey is not just a physical pilgrimage but a spiritual odyssey that will stay with us forever. As we proceed on our path, we pray for the blessings of the Almighty to guide us on our journey of self-discovery and devotion.
May our experiences in Haridwar inspire us to cultivate love, compassion, and unity in our lives, and may we carry the divine vibrations of this sacred city with us always.
Day 2 : Haridwar to Barkot
The next morning, we visited the revered Hari-Ki-Pauri Ganga Ghat, one of the most sacred sites in Haridwar. After seeking blessings, we embarked on our journey to Barkot, a scenic destination nestled in the Himalayas.
As we drove through the picturesque route via Mussoorie, we stopped at Kempty Falls, a breathtaking waterfall that added to the beauty of our journey. The drive to Barkot took around 7-8 hours, covering a distance of 200 km. Upon arrival, we checked into our hotel and spent the night in Barkot, rejuvenating for the adventures ahead.
Day 3 : Yamunotri Expedition

The following day, we set out early in the morning for Yamunotri, a sacred pilgrimage site dedicated to the goddess Yamuna. After a 36 km drive, we reached Jankichatti, the starting point of our trek to Yamunotri. The 6 km trek was a spiritual journey in itself, with some of us opting for horseback rides and others for palanquins.
Upon reaching Yamunotri, we took a holy dip in the warm waters of Surya Kund and worshipped at the Yamunaji temple. The divine experience was truly uplifting, and we felt blessed to have undertaken this pilgrimage.
After seeking the blessings of the goddess, we began our descent back to Jankichatti and then drove to Barkot, where we spent the night, reflecting on the spiritual experiences of the day.
