The Tragic Story of Sadhna Bhosale: A Cautionary Tale

In a small town in Sangli district, Maharashtra, a brilliant student named Sadhna Bhosale lived with her family. She was a shining star in her school, scoring 92% in Class 10th, and her teachers praised her for her academic excellence. Sadhna’s dream was to become a doctor, and she started preparing for the NEET exam.
However, Sadhna’s father, Dhondiram Bhosle, a school principal, had other expectations. He was a man consumed by his own insecurities and frustrations. He would often abuse and torture his children over their studies, pushing them to excel at any cost. Sadhna, being a diligent student, tried her best to meet her father’s expectations. But when she scored low in a NEET mock test, her father’s anger knew no bounds.
The day of the fateful incident, Dhondiram’s rage turned into brutality. He beat Sadhna mercilessly with a wooden handle, ignoring her pleas to stop. His wife and son watched in horror, frozen in fear, as Sadhna’s life slipped away. The words “Papa bas karo, aapke bhi kam number aye the” (Please stop, you also got less marks when you were a student) were her last attempt to reason with her father.
Sadhna’s tragic death is a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of parental pressure and the importance of emotional maturity. It’s a story that needs to be told and retold, to make parents understand the value of empathy and compassion. Every child is unique, with their own strengths and weaknesses.
