A Story of Dvapar Yuga in Prose (Part 23-C)

The Tale of Brave King Muchukunda and Lord Krishna

A very long time ago, in Satya Yuga, there lived a brave and kind king named Muchukunda. Everyone loved him because he always protected people and never did anything wrong.

🌟 Muchukunda Helps the Gods

One day, the gods in heaven came to him with a problem.

“King Muchukunda,” they said,
“These bad Asuras are troubling us. Please help!”

Muchukunda agreed happily.
“Protecting others is my duty!” he said.

He fought the Asuras for many, many years in heaven.
Finally, when the gods were safe, Indra, the king of the gods, told him:

“Ask for any gift. We will give you anything!”

But Muchukunda was tired. Very, very tired.

He said,
“I don’t want gold or treasures. I just want a long, peaceful sleep.”

Indra smiled and gave him a special blessing:
“Sleep in that cave on earth.
And remember — whoever wakes you up will turn into a pile of ashes when you open your eyes!”

Muchukunda thanked him and went to sleep inside a big cave.

He slept…
and slept…
and slept…

Ages passed.
New kingdoms came.
New people were born.
Lord Krishna Himself took birth on earth.

Still, Muchukunda slept peacefully.

🌟 A New Danger – Kālayavana

In Dvāpara Yuga, a terrible king named Kālayavana wanted to defeat Lord Krishna and become famous.
He came with a huge army, but he wanted to fight Krishna alone to show off.

When he reached Mathurā, Krishna walked out calmly…
then walked away quickly!

“Hey! Why are you running?”
shouted Kālayavana, and he ran after Krishna.

Krishna smiled but didn’t stop.

🌟 Krishna Leads Him Into the Cave

Krishna entered a dark cave — the same cave where King Muchukunda was sleeping.

Krishna quietly stood in a corner and let Kālayavana come inside.

Kālayavana saw the sleeping king and thought,
“Aha! Krishna is pretending to sleep! I will wake him!”

He kicked the sleeping Muchukunda.

🌟 The Magical Moment

Slowly, King Muchukunda opened his eyes…

And FLASH!

Bright light shot out from his eyes, just as Indra had blessed him.

Kālayavana instantly turned into a heap of ashes.

Muchukunda looked around and saw a beautiful, glowing person standing nearby.

His heart felt peaceful.
The person smiled kindly.

He asked softly,
“Who are you? Your presence is so gentle. Are you a god?”

🌟 Krishna Reveals Himself

The glowing figure said,

“I am Lord Krishna.
You helped the gods long ago.
Today you destroyed an evil king.
Ask Me for a blessing.”

Muchukunda bowed and said,

“I don’t want anything except peace and wisdom.
I want to love God forever.”

Krishna blessed him and said,
“Go to the mountains and pray. You will find true happiness.”

🌟 Muchukunda’s New Journey

Muchukunda left the cave.
He was very tall — almost like a tree!
People at the mountain got scared, but he gently told them,

“Don’t be afraid.”

Then he walked away peacefully, thinking only of God.
