Rohan & Sunita: “Love After Loss”

Rohan and Rahul were inseparable friends, living in the same locality. Rohan resided with his mother in their own house, having lost his father, a government employee, while he was still in service. His mother received a family pension, and his sister had married and was living happily with her husband and in-laws.
Rohan, who had completed his bachelor’s degree in information technology, worked at a small IT company with a modest salary in a nearby town . He remained unmarried, dedicating himself to supporting his mother.
On the other hand, Rahul, the only son of a renowned and wealthy lawyer, had followed in his father’s footsteps and pursued a degree in law. He joined his father’s practice as a junior and eventually married Sunita, with whom he shared a happy life. Rohan did not attend the wedding ceremony of Rahul as he couldn’t get leave.
Tragedy struck when Rahul, his parents, and their driver were involved in a fatal road accident while traveling to Puri. Sunita was left alone, her world shattered by the loss. Despite receiving a substantial compensation from the insurance company, she found little solace in her newfound wealth.
Sunita owned a large house and had a considerable bank balance, but she chose to live alone, refusing offers of remarriage despite being childless. Her decision was a testament to her enduring love for Rahul and her inability to imagine a life with anyone else. As she navigated her new reality, Sunita’s strength and resilience were put to the test, but she remained steadfast in her commitment to honoring the memories of her beloved husband and his family.
Rohan and Rahul were friends, but Rohan had been away from the country for a while. He didn’t know about Rahul’s tragic death in a road accident along with his parents and driver. One day, Rohan offered his seat to a woman, Sunita, in a crowded bus because she was carrying a heavy bag. However, Sunita misunderstood his intentions and slapped him, thinking he was trying to impress her.
Rohan didn’t react and instead offered his seat to another woman. Sunita realized her mistake and felt bad. When they both got off the bus, Sunita struggled with her bag and almost fell, but Rohan helped her. He even carried her bag to her house.
As they walked, they talked, and Sunita discovered that Rohan was Rahul’s friend. She was filled with regret and apologized for her behavior earlier. Rohan forgave her, and they parted ways, with Sunita feeling grateful for his kindness.
Sunita, who lived alone in her large house with 12 big rooms, decided to rent them out to young women as paying guests on Rohan’s suggestion. She transformed the house into a cozy abode, setting up two beds in each room and engaging a cook and helper to manage the household chores.
Sunita took great care in serving her guests, preparing breakfast and lunch packets, and providing hot food at night. She did all this with love and dedication, without taking any days off. However, six months into this venture, Sunita made a surprising change. She informed Rohan that her staff would now cook for only 28 days a month, and the guests would have to arrange their own food for the remaining days.
Rohan was taken aback and asked Sunita why she had made this change. Sunita explained that despite her best efforts, her guests would constantly find fault with the food, complaining about the salt, temperature, and other things. She realized that they took her kindness for granted and didn’t appreciate her efforts.
By limiting the cooking days, Sunita aimed to teach her guests a lesson. And it worked. When they had to pay more money to eat outside, they started appreciating the food cooked by Sunita’s staff. They began to eat without complaining, and Sunita was happy to see the change.
Rohan appreciated Sunita’s decision, calling her a genius for finding a creative solution to the problem. He admired her for standing up for herself and setting boundaries, rather than tolerating unjust criticism. Sunita’s decision had not only earned her guests’ respect but also helped her maintain her dignity and self-worth.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, Rohan started working from home. One day, his mother visited his sister’s house, leaving him alone. Sunita, who was a friend of Rohan’s late husband, knew he was alone and decided to visit him. She brought some snacks and they sat down to talk.
Rohan noticed that Sunita looked particularly nice that day, but what struck him more was her kind heart and innocent nature. As they chatted, they discovered they had a lot in common and enjoyed each other’s company. Their conversation was filled with laughter and warmth.
Despite the unexpected visit, they both felt a strong connection. Over time, their friendship blossomed into something more, and they decided to get married. With Rohan’s mother’s consent, they tied the knot and started a new life together, filled with happiness and love.
