The Illustrious Life of Lokanath Mishra
Lokanath Mishra, a multifaceted personality, was born on January 6, 1956, in Kasi Jaganath Pur, Puri District, Odisha. As an executive member of Mukti Mandapa Pandita Sabha of Puri Shri Jaganath Temple Complex from 1972 to 2005, he represented his village, Kashi Jaganath Pur, which is part of Shola Shasan.

Early Life and Education
Mishra’s early education took place at the village LP school, Sasan Damodar Pur M.E. School, and Municipal High School, Puri, where he completed his schooling in 1971. He went on to pass his Intermediate Arts examination as a private candidate in 1974 and earned his bachelor’s degree from SCS College, Puri, in 1976.

Career
Mishra’s professional journey began as an Inspector of Central Excise and Customs on December 15, 1977. He rose through the ranks, becoming a Superintendent in 1995 and Assistant Commissioner in 2014, before retiring in 2015. During his tenure, he also worked as an Inspector of Police in the CBI from 1989 to 1992 and as a guest lecturer at Revensha College, Cuttack, from 1993 to 1998.

Personal Life
Mishra married Basanti Mishra on May 3, 1983, and they have two children, Richy Yati and Priyanka Priyadarshini. Richy Yati is married to Amruta and works in the USA, while Priyanka Priyadarshini is married to Sai Vishal and lives in London.

Family Background
Mishra’s biological father was Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra, a priest and active member of the Mukti Mandapa Pandita Sabha. His adoptive mother was Smt. Radhamani Nanda, the younger sister of Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra. Mishra’s family belongs to the Kasyap Gotra, and his ancestors were brought from Kasi (present-day Banaras) to Kasi Jaganath Pur.
