Smita’s life was a delicate balancing act, a intricate dance of love, trust, and friendship. But when she discovered the unthinkable truth, her world came crashing down. Her best friend, Mamuni, a successful lawyer, had been secretly visiting her home, sleeping with her husband, and betraying their friendship.

The pain was excruciating, like a slow-moving poison seeping into every pore of Smita’s being. She struggled to comprehend the motivations behind Mamuni’s actions. Why would her best friend, someone she trusted with her deepest secrets, do such a thing? Mamuni’s answer was shocking: she claimed she did it to prove that Smita’s husband was not good enough for her.

Smita’s marriage was already complicated. As a lecturer in a different city, she was away from her husband, an established businessman. She had taken on the responsibility of raising their two children, a son and a daughter, on her own. The distance had taken a toll on her marriage, but she never imagined that her husband would succumb to infidelity.

As Smita grappled with the aftermath of the discovery, she couldn’t help but wonder about the fate of Mamuni’s own family.
