Purnima IRS : ( based on a true story)
By Lokanath Mishra
Purnima, a brilliant and stunningly beautiful young woman with a fair complexion, had always been driven to succeed. After completing her master’s degree, she achieved her dream of being selected for the Indian Revenue Service.

During her training, Purnima met Ganesh, a charming fellow officer, and they quickly fell in love. Their relationship blossomed, and they decided to get married after completing their training.

As fate would have it, they were both posted in Mumbai, and their wedding plans were underway. However, their happiness was short-lived, as a woman named Kavita appeared with two children, claiming to be Ganesh’s sister-in-law.
Kavita revealed that Ganesh had promised to marry her after his brother’s death and that one of the children was his son. Ganesh vehemently denied the allegations, but a DNA test confirmed that the child was indeed his.

Despite the shocking revelation, Ganesh refused to acknowledge his responsibilities and insisted on marrying Purnima. However, Purnima’s world was shattered, and she felt betrayed by Ganesh’s deception.
In a surprising turn of events, Purnima decided to put the past behind her and start anew. She married a young and handsome Inspector who worked under her, leaving Ganesh and his secrets behind.
As Purnima embarked on her new journey, she realized that sometimes, life’s unexpected twists and turns can lead to a brighter and more fulfilling future.
Purnima’s marriage to the young Inspector seemed like a fairy tale come true. However, as time passed, subtle cracks began to appear in their relationship. The Inspector’s ego started to get the better of him, and he grew increasingly resentful of Purnima’s superiority in their professional lives.
The tension simmered beneath the surface until the Inspector’s suspicions boiled over. He confronted Purnima about her past relationship with Ganesh during their training days. Purnima tried to reassure him, but the Inspector’s doubts had already taken root .
Just as the situation was becoming precarious, Purnima’s father-in-law approached her with a request for financial help. He needed money for his daughter’s wedding, and he expected Purnima to contribute generously. Purnima was taken aback by the request, and a heated argument ensued.
The tension escalated to the point where the Inspector threatened to divorce Purnima. The atmosphere was charged with emotion, and it seemed like their marriage was on the brink of collapse.
Just when it seemed like all hope was lost, a friend of Purnima’s intervened, sensing the urgency of the situation. After a series of intense discussions, a compromise was reached. Purnima agreed to contribute one lakh rupees towards her sister-in-law’s wedding expenses.
In return, the Inspector would leave his job and pursue a career in law, a long-held passion of his. The compromise not only resolved the immediate crisis but also paved the way for a more harmonious and balanced relationship.
As the dust settled, Purnima and her husband embarked on a new chapter in their lives, one marked by mutual understanding, respect, and a deeper appreciation for each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
A fabulous story with an abrupt end. But interesting.
